Plasticity of clayey soil

Dear friends

I have laboratory reports, with plastic limits are quite higher than that of liquid limit, can anyone please make me clear "is that possible", if yes what is the physical meaning of that soil? Is that type of soil is suitable for highway sub-grade???

I have never seen or heard of that being the case. I expect that the test results are reversed or in error.

The first thing I would do is have the tests reran using a different technican or a different lab.

Check to see if the lab has any certification. I have seen inexperienced techs run these tests and completely mis-follow the guidelines.

LL always > PL
LL - PL = PI
note some soils are non-plastic.
could be those numbers are reversed.
