Good Morning.
How to calculate the required thickness of heat transfer plates in Plate Heat Exchangers (PHE) as per Section VIII Division 1?
I can see only in API 662 that minimum thickness for plate elements shall be 0.5 mm. UG-16 excludes PHE from minimum thickness requirements.

Is it a U-2 (g) case?

I found the Code Case 2766, it does not require any design calculations or proof testing for establishing the MAWP for gasketed plate packs provided all 6 conditions of CC2766 are met. MAWP of other pressure retaining parts will govern the design. CC 2766 is not covering fully brazed or fully welded plate packs.
I came to know from some friends that Edition 2017 of ASME Section VIII-1 will bring Appendix XX dedicated for PHE, is it correct? any comment?

Secondly any idea, how to establish MAWP for fully brazed or fully welded plate packs
