Plate rolling - the LONG way 1

We are looking at CB&I "Vertical Plate Coke Drum" technology. It's basically the fabrication of a coke drum in the shop or in the field, but instead of rolling rings, they roll plates the "long way" to make vertical sections for the drum. I won't get into all the reasons why this is done. What I want to know is who, particularly in Europe, is able to ROLL or FORM plates the long way to make these sections. We heard Offenhauser used to do it in Houston with 25' wide roll, but we are still researching this.

THANKS FOLKS!

You might want to contact FACCIN or the Webb Corp and find out who has purchased a wide roll.

FACCIN:
Thick plate but limited to 13' in the brochure. Evidently they have made larger machines.
Home office is in Italy.

Webb Corporation:
Up to 20'2" x 7/8" I assume a low yield material.

JTE: Of course CB&I does this as I mentioned in my post, but unless your a client (not another fabricator), they aren't going to share that information. Hence the post.

vesselfab: I checked with Offy, and they have a press brake that can simulate this, but only up to 1/2" think and 20' long (wide).

unclesyd: Good idea, we'll check into that.

Though we've not unconfirmed, if anyone is intersted we got these leads:

S and T International
Mauriceville, Tx.

Robertson Metal Fabricating
Houston, Tx.

Thanks...

codefabricator,

Most of the companies mentioned by unclesyd have 40+ ft press brakes. TSPI has a 40 footer and AmTank a 50 footer. Hodgson may?? also have 40 ft press brakes. Stars for unclesyd.

Also try Dillinger Hütte GTS and see if they can form the 40 ft plate sections for you.

We managed to identify a source for this supply. The company is
According to the print brochure, they have a unit that can press 12.25 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 60 mm thick.

Thanks to all who assisted.

doct9960- I was in the TSPI shop a couple of weeks ago, but the only press I saw was a 12 maybe 14 footer. Also one of the "problems" with TSPI is that they won't work with customer material, only their own material.

If it's heavy wall you're looking for you should consider mach industrial
