Hello again and thank you all for your time and expertise. I've recently learned that it's possible to copper, brass and chrome plate aluminum. Can the same be done on stainless steel?

Yes. Stainless steel may be plated with copper, brass, chromium, nickel, cadmium, and the precious metals (gold, silver, etc.).

Selfridge Plating in MI offers all of the above mentioned platings on Stainless Steel. As do others. Visit their website.

Depending on the area that you are plating you may wish to consider selective plating or brush plating. is a good site.

Again, stainless steel can be plated, but it quickly forms an oxide layer that effects adhesion of the plating so you want to have the correct methods used. The normal plating procedures are modified slightly to account for the different substrate.
