PLC Field Termination

I recently overheard people talking about PLC and terminal strips i.e. F-strip, P-Strip, S-strip etc… Can anyone provide me with some information about the meaning of F-strip, P-Strip, S-strip etc…

I am guessing that what you overheard was an application specific conversation. I.E maybe refering to strips of terminals labelled by the deisgner of the plant.
