Dear eng-tips members :

Please kindly help me out in this confusing power calculation equation.

There is some different shape of anchor impellers. Someone may design the anchor impeller D/T ratio range from 0.7~0.85, and the shape may be different from the usual

anchor type. For example, the liquid level may immerse half of the anchor height(H), and by the equation you provide bellow, is any limitation to adopt this equation

Np(laminar) =113 (D/(T-D)) (H/D) (W/D) (n/2)

P = Np(laminar) * Visc * N^2 * D^3

And, what is the relation between the pumping number Nq = Q/(N * D^3) and power number, is it means the increasing D may generate more Q (pump rate), so that the

agitation efficiency will get much better(more fluid in the vessel can pumping up from bottom through the top ?).

May you please kindly help me with some light or hint ?

Thank you so much.
