Hello, please follow the link to see the diagram of the model. What I have are two simple bone blocks on the top and the bottom. At the inner surfaces of these blocks is a 0.5 mm partition of cortical bone, which is a higher modulus bone then the bulk of the blocks. In this "cage" device I have holes which allow a screw to be inserted, 4 to be exact, with a stopping point inside the body.
Can someone give me the specifics of the interaction property assignments? I just want to start with something simple and do no friction. I attempted to make the whole bottom and top bones the master surfaces. I selected the cage body as a slave surface. Next on to the four angled screws in the cage. I selected the cut-out bone on the top and bottom, as well as the cortical layer as master surfaces, 2 surfaces, 1 for the 2 bottom screws, and 1 for the two top screws. Next I selected both screws on the bottom as slaves, and another surface definition I selected both top screws as slaves. I applied a load at the top, a continuum load, and this run did not work. The error said something about bad normal definitions. Is there something wrong with the setup of the contact? Please help, thanks.
