I am running AutoCad 2000 on an XP system plotting on an HP DesignJet 450C. Lately the following problem has developed:
I can plot a drawing and a few lines are found to be missing. I close AutoCad, reopen it, and plot the same drawing and a few different lines are missing. I don't know where to start: the XP?, the 450C? or AutoCad 2000?

Does anyone have a clue?

Do all of the lines show up in the plot preview? At least that might give you somplace to start (If they show up there but do not plot, its probably an XP/Printer Issue.)

Thanks for your interest.
The drawing shows up perfectly in the preview. This occurred about 2 weeks ago and again yesterday. For now, I was able to plot correctly by shutting off the plotter, shutting off the XP, wait 1 min. and turn them both on again.(A simple restart of the XP did not help.)
I'm working again, but would like to know the true cause so I can prevent repeat episodes.

It sounds like a printer issue. Unplug the cable from both ends, use one of those bulbs that suck the snot from babies noses to clean out any dust from the printer ports and both cable ends, make sure you have the latest drivers from the HP website, and see if any of that helps.
Other than that, I'm at a loss.
