Since I upgraded to swx07, I have not been able to achieve the same draft quality. Even now when I plot from swx06 everything looks fine. But when I plot from swx07, the lines are very light and hard to read.

Is there a setting I have missed?

What does the print preview look like? If it looks fine or the same as it did before, then the issue is with your drivers for the printer.

When I preview from sw06 the lines appear dark. But when I preview the same drawing from sw07 the lines appear light.

I have noticed that when I go to the "page-setup" and select "black & white" it does not stay. Because the next time I check the page-setup it is back to "automatic". Is there a setting somewhere else that will make the setting stay on "black & white" in the page-setup?

Thanks for your help.

When you start the print function, does the Page Setup show "Use system settings" or "Use this document settings"?

Set the "Page Setup" how you want it, run the print, then save the document to capture the print settings.

When I start the print function the setting is:
- use this document settings
- set each document... (checked)

When I set the page-setup to black & white, the print doesnt come out dark. The next time I check, it is set back to "automatic". Even when I check the settings again before printing, it reverts back to "automatic".

I have also seen the printing issues that engmaster lists. It also seems to manifest itself in PDF output. The problem with lines appearing to thin is when printing or saving a pdf in high quality rather than draft quality. Printing has always been a sore spot with SolidWorks, at least for us. We have a pretty respectable HP 1050C plotter to boot, and you can not imagine the issues over the years. I have worked with regional technical support managers to get things documented in the past. 2006 seemed to be the first release for us where we did not run into issues with printing. 2007 seems to be back to its old habbits again, sigh...

I uninstalled and re-installed sw07 this morning but still cant get the page-setup to uncheck the "automatic" setting. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Just a stab in the dark, but you could try uninstalling/reinstalling the printer software & drivers.
