Plotting history output from a fixed location

I am trying to model a shock tube. The model runs successfully as a 1D column of air with a shockwave running back and forth inside it.

I'm now trying to plot the pressure at a fixed location, eg 300mm from one end of the tube. I can easily plot the pressure based on one element which was initially at that location, but obviously as the air deforms this element moves.

I would like to plot an output from a fixed geometrical location relative to an observer external to the tube, as opposed to one inside the tube moving with the gas.

I've tried using sets, but these appear to move with the specimen when I run the job.

Any help would be much appreciated.
