Plotting Overlays

Does anybody know of a good plotter for plotting precision overlays on film? We have been using an old Draftmaster II for this but it is getting tired. The old pen plotter is more acurate than our DesignJet 1050c. Is there a good replacement plotter out there? What are other metal stamping designers and engineers who still use 10x overlays with shadowgraphs using?

At a former employer we used a flat bed plotter made by Aristomat.

We didn't cut with it, though we could have. It was very accurate. Ball point pens gave much better results on mylar than liquid ink.

Thanks for the tip, I went to the Aristo site, it seams there plotters are geared towards cutting patterns! Is there a particular plotter model that you have used for overlays?

Unfortunately, I can't remember what model it was. The bed was about 4' x 8'. It was intended to be used for cutting, but when it was purchased, we had it fitted with a head to hold 2 ball point & 2 liquid ink pens instead of the cutter holder.

Because it was so big, we also used to sell plot time to a local casting company. They used it to plot layouts for the forms used to make large machine bases. It's a way to recoup some of the cost.
