Plunge Pile

Our contractor propose to plunge the column rebar to freshly poured concrete bored pile to shorten the construction pile. Their proposal is similar to the video in the link below:

Although, we have some hesitations, especially regarding how the dirty concrete be removed. Does anyone here already experienced doing the same method? Have you had any pile integrity issue when you utilize this method?

Is that meant to read to "to shorten the construction time"?

CFA piles require the cage to be plunged due to their construction method.

Nothing wrong with it, just make sure you have sufficient spacers. That excavator looks a little light too, typically ive seen excavators push the cage in, not repeatable beat it in.

I have seen loads of CFA piles installed like that. It's standard practice and I would have no issues with it.

Having said that, it is not normal to try and bash the cage in like that. Probably should have used more cover to the reinforcement.
