Anyone understand how plysteer affects vehicles?

My questions:

If plysteer is present in all tires, pushing to the left, and it compensates for the road crown, why isn't it a problem in places where they drive on the left side of the road, like the UK?

What about on flat roads? Is plysteer so small compared to cornering forces that only a small amount of steering input is needed to compensate?

Appreciate any input!

There's a lot more to plysteer than you have implied, the gruesome details of which I have never bothered to look into. basically there is an effect that pulls to one side independent of the direction of rotation, and one that is dependent on the direction of rotation. The latter is conicity, the former is real plysteer, or vice versa. It is tunable, tires for LHD markets will have the opposite plysteer to RHD. It's part of the spec of the tire. Yes, if you've got the wrong plysteer customers will complain.

Some manufacturers run a straight steering algorithm in their EPAS which corrects for plysteer and crown so you don't have to supply a constant SWT.

here's an old thread on it, you may recognise one of the contributors.

and here's a rather jolly article
