can anyone suggest a preventative maintenance/ equipment management software?
the idea is that the software would track routine updates and maintenance/problems with equipment and allow search queries and reports, etc.

i would appreciate it.

Use Fluid Analysis Trendlining for greater equipment reliability and lubricant source reduction.

You may want to try Computing Systems International
(I think) or CSI they make vibration analyzers and the 2120 model came with software that had some kind of PM data on it, never used it since the Navy already had a PM program.

Hope this helps, Dan76

There are a lot of CMMS today. We are using MP5 from Datastream for our oil fields and refinery in Surinam.
This is a system which runs on Oracle so you need some heavy hardware to use it.

One of the things you need to do is make an inventory of the equipment you need to implement in the system. If you allready have a PM system in place, (cardfile or written documents) check how much of this history you want to migrate. All this can give you an indication in which price class you need to search.

Well there are lots of companies offering products, try them out at:

Try also the magazines Plant Engineering and Plant Services there are always articles about Implementing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

We have used the COGZ CMMS software in several of our bakeries around the country with good success. They offer a build up type system where you can start for about $1000 and add modules to custom fit the application to your needs. You can be up and running with all modules for less that $3000. This is windows based and has the capability to be netwroked for multiple stations in your shop or plant floor.
