All,

Long time lurker finally joining the discussions here. I'm been working with Siemens' NX 11.0 for a while now. I have legacy 2D data that we're capturing in a 3D environment. I've recently been looking into capturing not just the geometry but also all of the legacy dimensions, notes, etc. as PMI. I work on a platform with complex lofted structural geometry and am struggling determining the most effective way of creating PMI dimensions for a number of scenarios.

One of the primary issues I am running into right now is how to create a PMI dimension for a surface offset and/or thickness in which the original surface is WAVE linked in from a master loft geometry file. (Think sheet metal flange which interface with a complex skin, in which both skin and flange have a certain sheet thickness)

Another one of the scenarios is how to create a PMI dimension for the length of intersection curve/spline. (think flange length that interfaces with a complex surface)

Anyone have any insight into how to create either of these?

It sounds to me like you don't need a PMI dimension, and a normal dimension will work fine.
But I could be wrong here.
