Points to define spline poles parametrically

I can define a series of points for a spline, and put a studio spline through the points within a sketch, and the sketch is associative to the points. However, if I want the points to control the poles of the spline, I can insert the spline, but when I move any but the start and end points, it has no effect on the curve.

Has anybody come across a way of creating a spline from points where the points are the poles of the spline, and by modifying the points the spline updates?

Did you try Studio Spline without putting it in a Sketch and making it Associative?

I control the points in a sketch then create an associative studio spline outside of that sketch.

I just tried it in NX-5 and it worked okay. When you create a Studio Spline through points be sure to have the point type entity selectable in your object selection method.
