Can someone tell me, or point out a resource where I can find, Poisson's ratio of Waspaloy? Thank you.

dcopps,

The value provided by RPstress is actually the density for Waspaloy in units of lb/in3. Poisson's ratio is not listed in MIL-HDBK-5/MMPDS for Waspaloy. As you probably already know, producers of Waspaloy like Carpenter, Special Metals, and ATI do not list anything in their datasheets either. I found a value of 0.30 from a journal article [Computers & Structures 85 (2007) 225-232 FE creep crack growth model for Waspaloy] that listed the following two references as the source:

International Journal Fracture 77 (1996) 29-40 "An assessment of the CTOD criterion for predicting creep crack growth" by L. Xia, et al from the University of Notthingham in the UK.

Berger C, Scholz A. DFG-Fortsetzungsantrag: Herstellungs- und Lebensdauermodelle für den Einsatz von Nickel-Basis-Werkstoffen in Dampfturbinen oberhalb von 700 C, Teilprojekt 5: Bestimmung des mechanischen Hochtemperatur-Langzeitverhaltens, 2001.

I confirmed that the first reference does in fact show a value of 0.3 for Waspaloy, but I do not have access to the second reference.

RPstress:

Thanks for the response and the extensive citations. I have both MIL-HDBK-5 (version G) and MMPDS-01 and -03. Checking them all, I find a 0.298 figure given for Waspaloy's density, but that is not its Poisson's ratio, according to my engineer (I am a research librarian). Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks again.

dcopps;
Understand that Poisson's ratio mentioned above by TVP changes with application temperature.
