I am looking for a book about the process of recycling polyester, or synthetic fibers in general.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thank you :)

I am pretty sure there is no book devoted to recycling polyesters. I do know of a book on polyesters (Modern Polyesters: Chemistry and Technology of Polyesters and Copolyesters) and some on recycling of polymers. Keys to recycling polyesters are to control moisture content and to build molecular weight for example using additives like Joncryl from BASF, multifunctional epoxies. The contact person for those additives is Alex Sokolowski. You can find him on LinkedIn or track me down and I'll provide you his contact info. There are other additives claimed to help as well (e.g. from Stabilization Technologies).

Thank you very much for your response! I suppose I should let you know that I am very much beginner to Polymers and polyester. I'll look in to trying to get the Modern Polyesters book, I think that will be a really good start. What are the books on recycling polymers you were thinking about?? Also, as a beginner is there any book you might recommend that could give me a foundation of fundamentals for this field? Thanks again.

Hello. It's a pleasure to help. Plastics is a great field but can be confusing in the beginning especially as books and courses are usually full of theory and mathematics instead of the information you really need when dealing with plastics in the real world like you are. To address that problem I recorded a web seminar that gives an introduction to help people get started in understanding plastic materials. It's an hour long and available from my site. Normally I don't direct people there but as you asked the link to that web seminar is:

The plastics recycling book you asked about is called Introduction to Plastics Recycling, 2nd Edition from RAPRA.
