We have a die design that consist of several parts in a product. After 1 individual part was machined, we realized it was machined Symmetrical of what it should have been. When we call part up by itself, it is symmetical of what it is when called up in the product. When we use the "Move" command and pick position, a warning box pops up and says "this part has been positioned by symmetry". We have been designing with catia v5 for 3 years now and have never seen this and cannot dublicate. Anyone with ideas?

The only way I have seen someone position a V5 part by symmetry was by using CATIA V4 & VPM. Call up the VPM Assembly in CATIA V4, apply the Symmetry, and save. Bad practice, but I have seen some use it.

I wonder if you could do this thru scripting? If so, you might have to do that to fix it.

We dont have v4, so that is not what happened.
Other ideas?

I'm not sure how it was done either - but my guess is the symmetry command in Assembly Design workbench ?
