I am looking at the need for an ammonia scrubber on a dilution tank. We currently recieve 33.5% aq ammonia from tanker to a pressurised storage unit. During delivery, the vent stack goes through a scrubbing unit.
From this tank, we transfer and dilute in an atmospheric day tank down to 5% aq ammonia (dilute tank capacity 5m³). This tank is outside and only filled ~once per week.
Currently, the vent from this tank goes directly to atmosphere. I cannot find any legislation as to whether or not I need to scrub the gases from this tank.
Additionally, if I do need to scrub the gas from the tank, what concentration should I use for the vented gas that is displaced during filling and what concentration do I need to reduce the Ammonia to?
