For some reason I can't find a way to bind a pdf reference image (or another bitmap image for that matter) to the dwg file. Anybody know a tip or trick to achieve this? I'd prefer not to send multiple files each time I send a dwg file to someone for review.

I'm not sure if this is what you want.
Convert pdf to image (jpg, png etc.)
Add new sheet to Draftsight file.
Go to Insert on the menu - Reference image.
You can insert bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg, png, tif, tiff.
Zoom in for clarity.

I think I figured it out... I had figured out how to reference an image file previously but the dwg file never combined the references with the dwg file.
For some reason, when I opened the jpeg in paint, hit Ctrl+A and dragged and dropped into the dwg file, Draftsight actually uploaded the entire file into the dwg file (not just referenced it).

Hi! the reason of that is because with that action (copy and paste from MS paint) you has inserted an OLE element (Object Linking & Embedding) instead of an external reference. The same happes if you try using the command INSERTOBJECT.
