Possible to Convert Solidworks to AutoCAD?

Is there anyway that I can take a view of my 3d design, and convert it into AutoCAD? We have some of our designs in Solidworks, and some in AutoCAD and I was hoping to transfer some of my models into AutoCAD, is this possible? Thanks!

From a part or assembly model, File>SaveAs>ACIS (.sat)

From a drawing, File>SaveAs>DWG

Make a drawing and save the drawing in DWG format, as noted above. Don't bother creating isometric and other 3D_views, since these are hard to edit in 2D. Make lots of orthogonal views. Use lots of sections and hidden lines.

Is there any reason your AutoCAD guys cannot convert to SolidWorks?

Unfortunately I am both the AutoCAD guy and the Solidworks guy. And since I have a lot more experience with AutoCAD, I prefer to use it for now.

So, I tried converting my assembly view into a CAD dwg. I went to SaveAs>ACIS (.sat)..

However, once I have that ACIS file, how do I open it in AutoCAD? Sorry if thats a dumb question, I just cant figure that part out. Thanks guys.

Import.

Now just to make sure... You intend to manipulate the 3D model in AutoCAD. That is what the ACIS method will allow you to do.

If all you want is to create a 2D drawing in AutoCAD, I recommend creating the views in a SolidWorks drawing and then saving that file as a DWG.
