Possible to reuse objects created in context? (and BOM question)

First question - is it possible to re-use parts that were designed in context, in another context, but without causing a split in the parameter relations? Or do I not understand this correctly? (if what I'm seeing is correct, re-using a contextual element causes the parameter links to be broken - i.e., won't update with the contextual part) I don't usually design in context with so many re-useable components, so I'm on shaky ground, here.

Secondly - is it possible to select ALL parts in an assembly at once, and create some sort of properties editor that can be edited in one shot? (all fields can be modified, and then the "OK" button selected once)

When working with contextual parts only one instance of the part can be in context. All other instances of the same CATPart file are considered out-of-context. This is true if the part is instanced in it's contextual assembly, or any other assembly.

You can edit any instance of the part, in any assembly, and all instances will update in all assemblies. However, you can only add or replace External References in the contextual instance!

You also have the ability to change which instance is contextual, however this can create alot of unwanted results if you do this willy-nilly.

Question 2 - enter ASD, Cntrl F - Workbench = Assembly Design - Type = CATpart. ---> Search and select.
Alt+Enter (property page)
Define other properties.

Create the parameter and enter the info.
This creates a new parameter in each part in a new section called Product:Added Properties.

You can enter info into certain parameter fields in 1 shot as well, look for the white background.

Question 1 - you can copy/paste special --> break link the contextual part. This will break the contextual links. Change the name of the part using the property page. Double pick the top of the assembly, contextual menu renamed part --> Components --> Define contextual links. If you used publications it will link up to the original parent parameters (provided the new part is located in the same location of the tree). A bit confusing, but I have a net meeting.
