Hello!

I am using NX quite some time now as designer and CAM engineer and I found myself in need for the following.
When I have created a Program Group with some operations in it, I want somehow to be able to post process them all together with the following manner:
I want to post process a program group but as separate operations and preserve the names.

For example, if I have a program group named "ROUGH" and it as two operations named "01_FACE_R" and "02_FACE_F"
to be able to post process them as 01_FACE_R.ptp and 02_FACE_F.ptp

because it is quite a waste of time to post process them all one by one. I can't imagine that there is no way to make a macro or something.
I tried to create a macro or journal but the problem seems to be that if first operation is named differently than the recorded one then it stops. Can anyone help with this or at least give me some hint where to look?
Thank you in advance.

Modifying the postprocessor is one way of achieving your goal.

Something close is activating group output in the postprocessor.

Otherwise you could opt to add some tcl code (file open and file close) to the start of path and end of path procedures.

Group output was a very nice approach to my goal except one thing. When it splits the program if an operation uses the same tool as the previous one, I get no tool change code in the file. I need for every sepatate file to have the tool change code. I tried adding a Start event to the operation that gets it's tool omitted but with no success and I'm not sure how to fix this.

In you start events you can add the Extra Tool Change UDE
