I have experience designing post tensioned flat plates for high rise buildings in a non-seismic zone. Recently our firm was hired to design a high-rise building in a seismic zone 3 (UBC 97)for which we are considering using a pt-flat plate, with shear walls as LFRS, but have some concerns about the performance of flat plates during seismic events.

are pt flat plates typically used in seismic areas?

is there a text book or case study available that discusses their performance during recent seismic events?

Thanks in advance,
