hi 25362,

infact I have sp.gravity and viscosity of crude oil and I need to use equations if it is possible to predict the pour point and molecular weight and make comparison between the two results. I hope my question is clear.

thanks

I don't know of any valid algorithm to predict the pour or cloud point of petroleum oils as caused mainly by normal or slightly branched isoparaffins in the C[sub]20[/sub]-C[sub]42[/sub] range, by using only gravity and viscosity.

For the relative molecular mass (molecular weight) one probably can get help from ASTM D2502-04. To characterize the crude, whether paraffinic or otherwise, one may use the VGC, viscosity-gravity constant.
