Dear Experts,

Your valuable comments are sought for the below mentioned issue.

One of our piping project which has to completed during plant S/D duration, there is shortage of 2 nos of 12" RTJ A105 WN Flanges. It is not for low temperature service. The connecting pipe is A106 Gr.B.
We have 2 nos of 12" RTJ A350 Gr LF2 Flanges. Whether I can use the same in place A105 with client approval and whether I need impact tested PQR to join the LF2 Flange to A106 pipe, mentioned the service requirement is not low temperature.

Whereas the design stated does not require impact testing, you may use the A350 LF2 flanges in lieu of A-105 flanges without qualifying an impact tested PQR.

Dear DeepuDivakaran,

There is a 10 HB hardness difference between the two specs. So check if there is any maximum hardness specified for your piping and ensure you adhere to it for the ASTM A 350 LF2 flange and ASTM A 106 Gr B pipe weld joint.

Regards.
