Dear Colleagues,
Please share your thoughts on the following question.
I'm going to model a Prefabricated Large Panel Reinforced Concrete Building in ETABS and perform Nonlinear Static and Nonlinear Time History Analyses.
The model has the following assumptions (see figure 1):
- RC Panels are elastic
- All ductility (nonlinear behavior) is located in joint elements.
I want to use Link Elements to represent these assumptions.
There should be three elements (see figure 2):
- Concrete;
- Steel;
- Shear spring.
I'm going to derive Force-Displacements interactions for Concrete and Steel springs from Sigma-Epcilon diagrams by multiplying stresses by total area (concete or reinforcement) and relative displacements by height of the joint.
I'm wondering is it possible to use Concrete and Steel only to also represent the Shear spring?
I'm new to ETABS and I'm not sure if I'm going in the right direction.
I would appreciate any suggestions and recommendations.
