I have an application for a sight window to be placed at or near the bottom of a tank. I am trying to figure out how much pressure will be exerted at this point. Following are process and equipment specs:

14' diameter
35' tall
25,000 gallons full
Soy Bean Oil
~7.5 lb/gal (187,500 lb total weight)
Positive tank Pressure: 10 PSIG

Any help would be great!

Thanks

How did you get to be an ME without taking Fluid Mechanics? The hydrostatic pressure is rho*g*h. Add the applied static pressure to get the pressure at the window. Apply that pressure over the area of the window to determine force. This is week one stuff.
