Where does it say in ASME VIII that we need a pressure gauge on a pressure vessel and its requirements. I am trying to find it but no luck. I found some information on hydrotest section but that is not what i need.

Thanks,

Patricia-

I believe UG-102 refers to gages used for testing...

I could be wrong, but I'm of the opinion that VIII Div. 1 does not require on the run pressure gages. That requirement would most likely fall to local jurisdictional or OSHA (if you're in the US) requirements. In California, for example, the employer shall not allow operation at pressures exceeding MAWP. This implies that the employer shall somehow be able to verify the pressure at which the vessel is operating. What is the jurisdiction in which the vessels which are the subject of your query will be installed?
