Pressure Rate Classification of Weld Ends

Dear Colleagues,

is there a standard for weld end dimensions comparable to ANSI 16.5 flange ratings?

For example: Weld end, outerØ167.3mm x 18.26mm, A182 F22, can be classified as 1500lbs?

Or are weld ends generally not classified with pressure rate classes?

Not to say someone has not done it, but I have yet to see it. My experience has been that pipe ends are rated at the pipe specification rating or the equipment rating if it is a nozzle. I hope that helps.

For sure somebody has tried it, but there are no standards that address such a thing.
There are for flanges, because the standards set the required pressures and temperatures, not the materials, design factors, allowable stresses and wall thicknesses that would be necessary to do the same for pipe.
LINE CLASS DESIGNATIONS accomplish essentially the same thing, but each line class assigned defines those and other essential parameters, such as fluid chemical compatibility, temperature ranges, service application, etc. as well and even business unit too.
