On what media do air sets or pressure regulating valves fail more i.e. compressible or non-compressible media?
Would a self venting air set fail at a lower rate than a non venting air set?
Water is the biggest cause of failure so I guess that would be non-comppressable media.
Venting regulators can be exposed to contamination from the downstream system so that would make them more prone to failure.
But, venting type regulators can still function even with a failure while non-venting will not be able to control downstream pressure in the event of a failure.
This is only valid as a technical question for identical valves under else identical conditions. Wear, abrasion, operation cycle, dirt in media will influence standing time, as well as exact material selection and general precision in the manufacturing process.
