i'm trying to determine the correct setting for my Direct Acting Pressure Relief Valve. this is a hydraulic system which i know the accepted setting is 10% over MAWP. However, the valve in question is in an accumulator pressurized with nitrogen. i need to know if pneumatic relief valves have different setting standards than hydraulic. working with 3000 psi system. any info will help. thanks.

This forum pertains to use of the COMPRESS pressure vessel design software. You will probably get a wider reading of you inquiry (and more comments) by posting in the "Boiler and Pressure Vessel engineering" forum (forum794) or the "ASME (mechanical) Code Issues" forum (forum292).

Although the B&PV and ASME forums are very good, I'd recommned forum1203 for this question...
