Hi every one,

I am working on a new piping system. I have several PSV's installed. I am trying to determine the thrust force for each PSV. Per API 520, for closed discharge systems, the thrust force is considered small as the change in fluid velocity is too small. Per the site's requirements, I need to determine these reactions. Is there a way to use Caesar II in order to determine these forces. API did not provide an equation for closed discharge systems that calculates these reactions.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

No you cannot use Caesar to calculate the Reaction force as it is for Vapour/gas relief valves. You need to calculate the reaction forces yourself and enter the values into your Caesar analysis.
