I am in the process of designing a flash tank for a power plant and the issue is pressure testing of the vessel according to EN13445.
I am more experienced in ASME VIII, so can anyone please advise me on how to proceed? As the vessel is in steam service it will only have stubs (no flanges) so that piping can be welded directly onto the vessel on site. Does EN13445 require 'shop' pressure testing? If so, do we need to weld on caps on all the nozzles for the pressure test and cut them off after the test? Or can the pressure test be done on site after the piping has been welded to the vessel?
