Hello,
I have a general question about pressure transmitters. Does the density of the fluid being measured play a vital role in the selection of a transmitter? This information is put on the data sheet that is issued but for example the 3051 Emerson data sheet for the transmitter does not mention process fluid density.

Thanks.

They simply output signal proportional to pressure against the sensing element. Density may affect the pressure, but the transmitter will only sense that applied pressure. If there are significant solids in your fluid may affect the selection. There are several mechanically different options to consider for that.
A pressure transmitter cannot determine product density.
