Good day all
I have found some related posts on the forums, partially they address that sanitary fittings made to A270 do not fulfil the requirements for ASME VIII Div 1 since there are no tensile testing done.
However, other posts refer to ASME BPE fittings with burst test data or some ratings for pressure and temperature.
I have a client which manufactures for the food and beverage industry. These vessels are required to comply to ASME VIII Div 1. The manufacturer is not a stamp holder. In South Africa the requirement is that you need to comply with the Code for design but the vessel may not be certified or stamped to ASME U stamp unless of course the fabricator is ASME certified stamp holder.
In general this client products include DIN screwed caps, sanitary pipe fittings, clamps, quick opening manway covers.
Any suggestions how to achieve compliance with ASME VII Div 1?

Sanitary fittings used on code vessels typically require that a burst test be performed in accordance with paragraph UG-101 of ASME VIII-1. Manufacturers using these on code vessels are machining them from SA-479 bar which is a code listed material.

All of the components that would be used on this vessel need to be manufactured from ASME VIII-1 code listed materials. ASME VIII-1 does not permit adoption of non-code materials to be used. All components will need to be burst tested unless there are calculations available for their geometry in VIII-1.

If you read the BPE it contains information about required strengths.
for example tubing made for BPE service is ordered to A270/A249 to address this.
