Hi all.

I would like to know how to model the prestress in a concrete piece (3d elements), caused by means of a rod (beam element) with the next steps:

1. pre stress the rod wich would be attached at the ends of the piece, without friction/contact/reaction betwen them except at the ends. (therefore the rod is under tension and the piece under compression).
2. once this is done, apply a constraint betwen rod and piece so the rod is embedded. and in further steps both will deform together.
3. apply subsequents external forces...

I would appreciate any idea in this sense! thanks!

as far as I know I can do an embedment of a the rod into the piece and then apply a decrease of temperature which causes a the prestress. But this is not the case, because the compression stress in the piece is not just incoming at the ends but along the whole rod, and therefore it wont be constant along the piece)

this topics that helped me in this issue but i need further help.
