Preventing Penetration during Contact 1

Hello All,

Does anyone have any suggestions/tips on preventing penetration between two deformable bodies during a hard contact analysis?

When I view the results of the job, I see that the top warp yarns, which are in contact with the upper plate during compression, are penetrating and passing through the next row of yarns underneath. The displacement of the top yarns are not propagating throughout the thickness of the fabric. Only the yarns that are in contact with the upper plate are effected.

Try turning on global contact or defining the contact pairs.

Try defining two contact pairs of the same two surfaces but reversing the master/slave surface name for each contact pair. That way nothing should penetrate in contact.

Normally you'd define a single contact pair as being between surf1 and surf2 as the master and slave surfaces for contact. Define an additional contact pair between surf2 and surf1 as the master and slave surfaces. That should stop any penetration between the two surfaces.
