Hello,
Our business is looking into maybe purchasing one seat of SolidWorks. Does anyone have a rough idea of how much this will cost? There is also a yearly licensing fee, correct? I have been looking on different software websites and can't come up with an approximate figure on this. I'm getting prices ranging from ~$800-$5,000! I am not really sure what is the right price, and I figure you guys are the one's using this so maybe you can best tell me what I should expect as far as a price goes.

SolidWorks: $4000
SolidWorks Office: $5000
SolidWorks Office Pro: $5500

Office has Photoworks Rendering, FeatureWorks, eDrtawing Pro, Animator, Toolbox, Utilities, and 3d Website Creation.

Office Pro has all that plus PDM/Works.

Yearly Maint. is $1295 for SolidWorks and Office and $1500 I think for Pro.

To get an accurate price you should contact a VAR in your area or SW direct if there isn't one.

SW does NOT charge an annual Licensing Fee, but there is a Support fee if you want tech support & SP's.

web site and look for a VAR (Value Added Reseller) in your area. Do not just pick a CAD package because of cost. Look into the future. Will your company grow? Will you hire more people? If you set up SolidWorks right in the beginning you will save money over the long run. We went cheap in the beginning, changed CAD systems 3 times. Paid the price to convert previous models and drawings, $1,000’s for 1,000’s of drawings. We have used SolidWorks for years now and never looked back. SolidWorks is easy to learn and the VAR support is the best.
