Hello all,

I'm new to this very interesting forum.

I apologise if this has been answered elsewhere, I have tried searching but all the answers I find are confined to solid light guides.

I would am in the process of designing a light guide to illuminate a large area. The light guide needs to transport a large amount of light (over 1000 Lm) and release it in a controlled fashion over it's entire length.

Would a solid light guide or a hollow one coated with a prismatic Optical Lighting film be the best option? The solid one would be simpler, but is there a limit as to the amount of light it can Carry with a diameter of say 40mm?

Also, what is the best material in either case?

Finally, what is the best method of ensuring an even release of light along it's length?

Thank you.

Regards,

Simon
