Customers are sending us Pro-E models for us to translate into Solid works. We can open the model, but no features exist such as bends, flat etc..

Will IGES or para solid files sent from the customers help?

You will get better responses asking this question in forum559.

Also state what versions of SW and ProE you are talking about.

The answer will be NO, no matter which forum you ask the question in. Features do not translate between CAD systems. STEP, IGES and Parasolid export are all translated files. SW does have a feature recognizer that may be able to reconstruct some features, depending on the complexity of the incoming part.

"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

I agree the SW ProE Converter recognizes "some, or most" features in files created with ProE, but only version 17.0-20.0, but this converter was not available in all versions of SW, that's way its important to define the versions of software (and in the proper forum).

I did a lot of converting models from one cad system (including all mentioned above) to another. A good piece of software to try comes I think from delcam. or
They have some pretty cluely programmers IMHO.

Hope thats of some help,
