Instead of using save or save as command, I have used Backup command to save a Pro/e part model in the same directory (saved as the same name).

After doing this when I open the model Pro/e crashes and I have to restart pro/e. Any ideas to check what is wrong so that this can be fixed.

Any help to fix this will be appreciated.

best regards,
ro

Are you using a PDM system?
Why are you using Backup instead of just save?
What are you trying to accomplish by doing the backup?

Hello Ben,

I am not using PDM.
I usually save the file. Using Backup was a mistake which is proving to be costly now.

Can you move the files to a different directory using windows explorer, and if so does the problem still persist?

Ro,

Back-up has just created new version files in your folder like this:

prt0001.prt.11
asm0002.asm.21

You can try to load in ProE the assembly with the version before back-up. In Win Explorer filter the files after the name and then erase the last top assy from the folder. Then load the assy againg.

If the problem is still there, then erase all the items with the higher number (ex: .11 or .21) and you will return to the state before back-up.

Before doing this, flush the content of recycle bin, so if you made a mistake you can easily find restore the part.
