Can anyone clear up the difference between body dragging and point dragging in pro mechanism. I really cant get my head around the publihed difference. In the PTC university it says a body maynot be dragged using body dragging if its orientation needs changing? i ahve been looking at thier car jack model they use for a demo and cant see why one body allows movement and another doesnt using the two different techniques.
its the terminology of 'orientation' thats got me confuses with body dragging. surely if you drag a body it is reorienting, isn't it?
I've used pro e for quite a while but mechaismis all new to me, and its got me puzzled.
to qote ptc:
"When you use Point Dragging (the default action), you select a point on any geometric entity, and the point follows the cursor movement while maintaining the connections in the assembly. "
"When you use Body Dragging, you select a body, which highlights and moves as you move the cursor. The body's position onscreen changes as the cursor moves, but its orientation remains fixed. If, due to the existing connections, the body has to be reoriented as well as moved, then the body does not move at all since the mechanism would not be able to be reassembled in the new position. Should this happen, try using Point Dragging."
help please would be most gratefuly accepted
