I am trying to use Pro/Mechanica from Wildfire to run thermal and dynamic analyses. The models are rather simple, mesh well and convergence seems to be correct. Hand calculations come resonably close in terms of accuracy.
After running a thermal transient case,I wanted to display a graph showing the temperature of a certain point versus time.
I knew the shape of this exponential curve from hand analysis of the model - a 3D isotropic ( aluminium) cylinder heated uniformly on the curved surface. I could not force Pro/Mechanica to show this curve. Instead, I was getting just a straight line. Does anybody know a sequence of menu "clicks" and entries for such case? I learned that this software is rather unforgiving as far as the sequence of clicks is concerned. I suspect that I am simply missing one or more steps and the software is not using the results properly. Temperature fringes across the bar for a steady state are correct.
This is just a matter of proper graphing.
Thanks,
