This may be a dumb question, but, did you read the help file section on Pro-Program?

You're kidding right! [rofl]

PTC documentation has got to be worst I have seen. Missing information, incomplete instructions, out-of-date "read this First" guides, etc.

I like your quote...

I didn't realize you were running wildfire.

The only books I've seen so far have little on Pro-Program.

I have a tutorial dated R13 or R14. The programming part has changed very little.

If you have a fax number I can send it to you if you like.

Skiddy,

Not sure if you will find this helpful, but I have had this come up as part of a search on Google:

Introduction to Optimization Excel to Pro/ENGINEER through Pro/PROGRAM (
Try also searching through some of the resources listed in the FAQ PTC Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA internet resources faq554-468.

Good luck!

We run a lot of Pro-E models indirectly from Excel using Pro-Program, I am quite proficient in Pro-Program, and am willing to answer any questions you may have, as everybody where I work does as well.

I am trying to become an expert in this field. So any questions would help me as well no doubt.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.

Onlyadrafter...........

Could you give me a few details on adding family tables within pro prog?

My main assembly features one main component, which can be chosen out of 4 options.

For each of the 4 options i have pro prog working on them, therefore they are all interchangable?

But how do i go about creating a table?

Many thanks

Hello,

I'm not entirely certain what you are trying to do, it sounds as though you should be using Interchange Assembly, but...

I don't think you can actually create instances within Pro-Program, but the next best thing is to use Instantiate (within Program).
When you have run Pro-Program, press 'PROGRAM' and 'INSTANTIATE' you will be prompted for a new assembly name and new part names.
This is why I don't think you are using the correct method, try these and if no luck, give a more detailed explanation.

hope this is of some use.
