Does anybody know if there was a limit in the size of IGES files that could be imported into previous versions of I-DEAS? (I have version 10 NX).
I am importing a number of files that were exported to IGES from Solidworks. I can import files up to about 4Mb in size, but above that even though the software says that the part has been imported it does not appear on the bench, just a name with no part.
Has anybody tried soemthing that works or does anybody know an alternative way to bring parts and assemblies from Solidworks?

I could attach an IGES file here if anybody wants to try.

Thank you

Try using the old IGES 6 translator.

/xto co bo fc im

type the above in your command line and try to import the file with this.

try using a parasolid file. Then in I-Deas go to file unigraphics open. Usually that type of file format works really well. I think I-Deas Version 10 has this capability.
