hi,
i am new to femap/nastran and currently doing a model where it is symetric with respect to longitudinal axis. so, i modeled the smallest part first and then meshed. i copied the model and mesh using 'rotate', after this i am not able to delete any mesh using the pickoption 'surface'. its working very well just before making copy of the part.

please help.

Dear RK19,
The reasons could be muultiple: is difficult to get right with so low clues. For instance, one reason could be you are meshing with solid elements than command "Delete > Model > Mesh > Method => On SURFACE " is not valid at all because your mesh is solid, not 2-D mesh. Who knows .. share the model or post any picture.
Best regards,
Blas.

Sounds like the mesh has lost its associativity to the geometry.

if you copied the model, then i don't think you copied the underlying geometry (surface)

I think rb1957 is correct.

If you copied the mesh using Mesh-Copy-Element then you copied the elements, not the surfaces. But it can also be something else. Difficunt to say from your description. But if you first create a geometry, then mesh it and copy the mesh. Then you can have two identical meshes but only one of them assiciated to a geometry.

Thomas
