Problem in Modelling of a chasis in CATIA 1

Hi all

I was trying to model the chasis of a bike in CATIA , and then do the FEM analysis in abaqus later, but the problem is that when two tubes intersect eachother, that if the section of the tubes are not circular, it would be a problem to mesh the parts , my Idea was to fillet the end of the tubes where they intersect, I wanted to do this on the .product model, but the shape fillet did not work and updatung topology gave and error : multiple ribbon , do each ribbon separately, I just didn't know which surface should be chosen as support, which as holdiing curve , What I need to do is to Fillet the Vertical Tube in the junction as you see in the attached picture

it's taken in ABAQUS but I am working on it in CATIA

It looks like the vertical pipe doesn't extend far enough or is a larger diameter than the horizontal pipes.

Are those solid rods or are they pipes at this point in the modeling? Symmetry is your friend, only model the right or left side. This could also come in handy for some FEA loading conditions.

You can either model this as surfaces and thicken afterwards or as solids and shelling it.

Depending on your goals for the simulation you may want to more explicitly model the welds.
