Hello,

How are you installing SolidWorks? From a SolidWorks installation CD, or from a download?

I believe you are probably installing from a download.

Make sure that the file you downloaded is:

swWenglish.exe this is for Win 98/Me

NOT swIenglish.exe this is for NT/2000

Any reason why you are installing SolidWorks 2001 and not using SolidWorks 2003 (which has so much more new functionality)?

cheers,

Joseph

Hi,

I'd like to second josephv's recommendation with a warning however. Make sure you download the version for Windows 98 but beware that just last week we encountered problems trying to install the downloaded version for 98. We checked with our VAR and confirmed that there was some sort of issue with the SolidWorks download website. I don't know whether or not this has been fixed so perhaps you want to try again.

By the way, this was for SW2003. I don't believe that we're able to download the installation files for 2001Plus any longer (I haven't seen them out there for sometime) but I could be mistaken.
